Professional Awards
Professional awards allow the National ESG Office to recognize the outstanding contributions of professionals to ESG and/or the field health education profession. Some of these awards are only presented by the National ESG Board while others may also be given by local chapters to deserving recipients, which is noted below.
Outstanding Chapter Advisor of the YearEach year, chapters and students have the opportunity to nominate their chapter advisor for the Outstanding Chapter Advisor of the Year Award, or chapter advisors may self-nominate for this award. This award recognizes advisors for their service and leadership as a chapter advisor and for mentoring of students. This recipient is presented a certificate at the Annual Meeting. W.E. Schaller Presidential Citation This award is presented by the National ESG President to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the health education profession. This recipient is presented a certificate at the Annual Meeting. Robert J. Synovitz Distinguished Serve AwardThis award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to furthering the goals of Eta Sigma Gamma. This award is presented by the National ESG board. This recipient is presented a certificate at the Annual Meeting. Local chapters may also present this award to a deserving chapter supporter. To request a certificate, please email nationaloffice@etasigmagamma.org with the date the award will be presented and to whom. Honor Award This award is presented to individuals or organizations that have made major contributions to the health education profession through service, education, and/or research. It is the highest award give by Eta Sigma Gamma. Both members and non-members are eligible for this award. The national award is known as the Eta Sigma Gamma Honor Award is presented by the National ESG board. This recipient is presented a certificate at the Annual Meeting. Local chapters may also present this award to a deserving individual or organization. The local award is known as the Eta Sigma Gamma ____ Chapter Honor Award. To request a certificate, please email nationaloffice@etasigmagamma.org with the chapter name, date the award will be presented and to whom. Scholarship Key Award Local chapters can present the Scholarship Key annually to any graduating member of Eta Sigma Gamma who has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Candidates for the Scholarship Key, are approved by the local chapter's Awards Committee and/or the chapter advisor(s). Purchase Scholarship Keys in the ESG store.
