Eta Sigma Gamma is governed by an elected Board of Directors who oversees its’ responsibilities and duties. The elected officers consist of a President, Vice-President, Immediate Past-President, two Professional At-Large members and one Student At-Large Member. The other voting members are appointed by the President, with approval of the Board of Directors. These are the Secretary-Treasurer, Historian, Director of Chapter Development, Editor of The Health Educator, and Editor of The Eta Sigma Gamma Monograph Series. The purpose of the Board of Directors is to carry out the business as described in the By-Laws and Constitution and a regularly updated strategic plan.
Skye McDonald is a second-year Doctoral student in the Department of Health Promotion and Education at the University of Cincinnati and serves as a Graduate Assistant within the program. Skye has a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Master’s degree in Health Education with an emphasis in Teacher Education from Texas A&M University. Her research interests include pedagogy, school health, and sexual health education with a specific interest in providing sexual health education to individuals with disabilities. Her interest in sexual health education programming for individuals with disabilities stemmed from designing and implementing a sexual health education program during her Master’s for students in the PATHS certificate program, a program offered through the Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M with the primary goal of preparing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for employment. Additionally, she is a Certified Health Education Specialist and is certified to teach Health K – 12 in the state of Texas.
Skye was inducted into the Alpha Pi Chapter at Texas A&M University in 2016 and is excited to continue to serve ESG at the national level!
