ANNUAL NATIONAL STUDENT AWARDS

These awards are to recognize outstanding students in the studies of health education. These scholarships and awards are presented by the National Board at the annual meeting and awards ceremony. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE February 15, 2024 unless otherwise noted.

FOUNDERS’ AWARD

Each year undergraduate student members have the opportunity to present their qualifications to be awarded the Founders’ Award through an application process. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee, which selects a deserving recipient. This individual receives a $750 cash award and an appropriate certificate at the Annual Meeting. LOREN B. BENSLEY, JR. GAMMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

Each year undergraduate and graduate student members have the opportunity to present their qualifications to be awarded the Loren B. Bensley, Jr. Gamman of the Year Award. This award recognizes outstanding leadership and service to furthering the goals of Eta Sigma Gamma. Individuals must be nominated for the award by their collegiate chapter’s Eta Sigma Gamma sponsor, the collegiate chapter’s membership or a faculty member who is a member in good standing of Eta Sigma Gamma. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee, which names a national Gamman of the Year. This individual receives a $750 cash award and an appropriate certificate at the Annual Meeting. JOHN P. MCGOVERN, M.D NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Each year graduate student members have the opportunity to present their qualifications to be awarded the McGovern Scholarship. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee, which names a deserving recipient. This individual receives a $750 cash award and an appropriate certificate at the Annual Meeting. ESG NCHEC OUTSTANDING UNDERGRADUATE MAJOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award will be presented by Eta Sigma Gamma and NCHEC to one undergraduate student from each institution offering a degree in Health Education. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding students majoring in health education from colleges or universities that have professional preparation programs. Recognition will be in the form of a certificate which will be presented to the student at a special student social during the SOPHE national conference. In the event the student is unable to attend the conference the certificate will be mailed to the student.

This award may be presented to any deserving undergraduate student, they need not be a member of Eta Sigma Gamma. Applications are due February 15, 2024. | Nominate Here
