Student Poster Session

The ESG Poster Session occurs during the ESG National Meeting. It is an opportunity for ESG members and chapters to provide information about teaching, research, and service activities related to ESG’s mission and goals completed by individual members or chapters. To apply for the ESG Student Poster Session, fill out and submit a Student Poster Session Application along with a teaching, research, or service abstract (250 words or less). Any identification of members, chapters, university, or location should be removed from the submitted abstract.

GUIDELINES

ESG is soliciting proposals of original, creative, student poster presentations for the ESG National Meeting. Using the Student Poster Session Application as a title page, prepare and submit the following by May 15th:

  • One Eta Sigma Gamma student poster session application
  • Abstract (see proposal and abstract guidelines below, must be in a standard font)
  • A one page resume for each presenter

Abstracts

Each poster session proposal should include a 250 word abstract. The contents of the abstract should reflect the requirements of one of the three categories in the table below that best fits the student project

Poster Session Types

RESEARCH

Project should be related to the goals and ideals of Eta Sigma Gamma and completed by chapter or individual Gammans.

In a 250 word abstract, the following information must be included:

  1. Title of proposal
  2. Research purpose
  3. Significance
  4. Methods
  5. Results
  6. Conclusions
  7. Recommendations
TEACHING

Community/school/university educational program completed by Eta Sigma Gamma Chapter or individual Gammans.

In a 250 word abstract, the following information must be included:

  1. Title of proposal
  2. Brief description of project
  3. Project objectives
  4. Discussion of degree to which objectives were met
  5. Implications for health education and/or Eta Sigma Gamma
  6. Conclusions
SERVICE

Community/school/university service programs or activities completed by Eta Sigma Gamma Chapter or individual Gammans.

In a 250 word abstract, the following information must be included:

  1. Title of proposal
  2. Brief description of project
  3. Project objectives
  4. Discussion of degree to which objectives were met
  5. Implications for health education and/or Eta Sigma Gamma
  6. Conclusions

Review Process

Students should not place their names on any part of the abstract. Proposals will be reviewed by a panel of reviewers in a blind review process.
