CNHEO – Code of Ethics Press Release

CNHEO – Code of Ethics Press Release

College Station, TX – April 15, 2020 – The Coalition of National Health Education Organizations (CNHEO) announces the on-line publication of the revised Code of Ethics for the Health Education Profession. The Code of Ethics is a living document that will continue to evolve as the practice of Health Education changes to meet the challenges of the new millennium and this revision brings our Code of Ethics into alignment with our current professional practice.

The Code of Ethics review process and update was undertaken by a taskforce made up of representatives from each of the CNHEO member organizations. Each of the CNHEO member organizations leadership groups, as well as the general body of the profession were able to review and comment on the work of the taskforce throughout the process. Taskforce co-chair, Christopher Ledingham summarizes the work as “a dedicated group of professionals, representing not only our organizations, but our profession, came together to revise the Code in way that showcases the importance of ethical practice for today’s health education specialist.” The Code of Ethics was previously revised in 2011 and this set of revisions was adopted by the CNHEO in February 2020. This Code may be published without permission as long as it is not changed in any way and it carries the copyright notice. Copyright (c) 2020 by the CNHEO.

The Coalition would like to thank the taskforce and its leadership for their efforts.
